Brandi Jong has been an active animal rescue volunteer for over 20 years. After years of dedication, she was finally able to fulfill her dream of opening a cat cafe in downtown Lowell, MA.

Lazy Cat Lounge works closely with several rescue groups and will soon welcome a rotating group of adoptable cats. In the meantime, you can book a reservation to hang out with the four resident cats: Yin, Yang, Gilda, and Sugarplum.

I quickly became friends with these four, who love hamming it up for the camera.

STAY TUNED: Brandi and I are collaborating on a seasonal pop-up for pet portraits in the cafe, launching in July! Proceeds will benefit the Lowell Humane Society!!

Adding Pets

We would love to add your ‘well-behaved’ furry family member to your session. Due to time constraints, they can only be added to regular mini sessions. Pups who get overwhelmed easily or cannot sit/stay on demand, you may want to consider a full 90 minute session instead so we have plenty of time for pup shenanigans. 

 

Editing & Retouching

What is Basic Editing?
Each image goes through a curation process where the best of the best are selected based on expression and personality. Then put through adjustments for color, contrast and shadow toning to match the classic natural style of our photography. With over 20 years of experience we have built a system to make sure all of your digital images look sharp, colorful and true to life. The number of delivered images will vary based on the cooperation of all kids, dogs and adults. Any image that is unique, in focus and up to our standard will be included in the delivery.

What is Signature Retouching?
Our signature retouching process involves going to the pixel level in Adobe Photoshop to airbrush skin, remove blemishes, smoothing flyaway hair, brightening teeth, removing any distracting background objects, and matching backdrop colors for consistency. Significant time is spent on each selected image to create magazine quality retouching.

Cat Lady Portraits 

Personal Portrait Project: Progressive Cat Ladies in Solidarity against Fascism. 

WHERE: Our studio at Mill No. 5 in downtown Lowell.

WHEN: Several dates in Aug 2024 – By Appointment Only

COST: $200, Which will go towards the race against Fascism. You will receive all the best images from the session with basic editing. Signature retouching is $24 per image.

DONATE DIRECTLY TOWARDS THE CAMPAIGN and show me proof OR pay for your session and I will donate for you. 

The sessions will be shared on our socials.

WHO: Anyone who identifies as a Cat Lady.

  • You don’t necessarily need to be female-gendered.
  • You can borrow a cat if you are not owned by one… or several
  • You may be a parent of human children.
  • One Human per portrait – Friends can come together.

HOW: Each Cat Lady will be photographed on a blue background.

  • The session is a 30 minute block. You will be holding kitty/s but if there is time I may photograph the cat/s alone.
  • Roughly a week after your session I will upload a gallery for you to choose your free image and purchase any additional images.
  • We will also be sharing our favorites on our socials.

WE HAVE LIMITED AVAILABILITY. I will be rolling out spots as they become available in our busy season.

Newhouse Wildlife Rescue Fundraiser

Newhouse Wildlife Rescue is a rehabilitation facility for injured and orphaned wildlife in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. We are dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to local wildlife from our surrounding area. Our organization also educates the public on how to co-exist with the wild animals in our community. It is our goal to share the stories of the animals we have cared for to raise awareness and to inspire kindness in others.

They are currently in desperate need of a new larger location to survace all the wildlife in need in our community and we want to help!

All Pet Portraits Booked in March 2024 we will donate 20% of your session to their mission.

Abby Is One!

Abby is a hungry little caterpillar so it only made sense to celebrate turning one in the same fashion. We had a great time together and it’s always so much fun to end the session loaded with sugar with her rainbow themed cake smash.Â
