I have had the pleasure of photographing this family since their engagement session. Then little Marianthi’s baptism and now to celebrate their expected second daughter. The chose a beautiful park in Hudson, MA for their maternity session. The fall foliage has just started to show on this gorgeous afternoon.

When you’ve been photographing clients so long they become friends, they even feel like family. We photographed Heather and Dave’s wedding back in 2010, then when they found out they were expecting their first baby, we were one of the first people they told. They needed to lock us in for a baby plan and I got to see beautiful little Fiona grow up in front of my camera. I was so sad after we had her first birthday session knowing I was only going to see them a couple times a year. When Fi turned two, they hired me to photograph them in their first house. You can only image how happy I was to hear they were expecting a little boy due this summer. We photographed their bump session on a very windy day at Wachusett Dam in Clinton, MA.

My friend Lydia is one of the hardest working women I know. In the years I’ve known her we have essentially raised our first babies together. Our business babies that is. We just moved into a loft in Lowell and she was making her amazing Sweet Lydia smores out of a borrowed cafe kitchen. Now she’s a nationally known seller and has two locations, including the Boston Public Market. She is truly an inspiration for all women entrepreneurs who know her. Anyhow, I happened to run into her at our weekly Farm Market here at Mill No. 5 and was told she was already a week past her due date. I had a cancellation the next morning and was able to get her in for some bump photos. Good thing I did, because her beautiful baby boy arrived shortly after. Newborn session coming soon!!

When the Wells family reached out to me to let me know they were pregnant with their third daughter I was beyond thrilled. We’ve been photographing them since their engagement back in 2009. I have loved watching their family grow. They are adoring parents to their two bright and hilarious daughters.

However as I read further into the email, my heart sank into the deepest part of my soul. Their sweet little baby girl was just diagnosed with Trisomy 13 a condition in which a person has an extra chromosome. What this means is that if the baby makes it through birth there is only a 9% survival rate with lots of not so great physical conditions. It’s truly heartbreaking.

They chose this particular beach because Mike, the father, has grown up spending his summers here and they now do the same with their family. It was important that baby Hazel is a part of that too.

Going into the session I knew that this was more that just any other bump session. This is a time of hope and happiness while she is has a physical place in her family. While she is due next month, all that can be done is giving this baby all the unconditional love she deserves and hope for the best possible outcome.

We have had the honor of documenting the Caci family since they decided to start one. All the way back to their engagement session, wedding photos, this awesome concept project called Live the Dress – where at the time we found out they were expecting their first. Then getting to photograph Keller from bump to birthday in one of our Baby Steps Plans. It’s been so amazing having this family in our life and creating art and memories for them.

I was just told that this baby is going to make her appearance today so I figured I should get these up incase it’s long and mama needs something to do…you know other than introduce a new life to this world.

A little over two years ago we were introduced to the Mill No. 5 project across the street from our house. While we just got the keys to our new studio, Jim Lichoulas and the other Mill No. 5 partners have become family to us as it’s become our second home. I was excited and honored to photograph the owner and visionary behind this project and his absolutely adorable family. I can’t wait to meet and photograph the new addition.

Good luck with all things birthing today Jim and Shannon!!

Those who have been following my work know how much I love shooting the baby’s first year photos so you can imagine how excited I was to find out this adorable family is expecting their second.

I had the pleasure of working with Christina over the course of a few projects. She’s the Co-Owner over at the amazing TEAL Hair & Makeup Studio. I was thrilled when she reached out to document their baby’s first year. I’m so excited to see what these stylish parents come up with for their future sessions.
